“Walk for Mark” Presentation

Mark was a member of Lakeside Running Club in Lincoln for 18 years or more
and unfortunately passed away in December 2007 from cancer.

The members of the running club and Mark’s family thought it would be a brilliant idea to organise a series of events, one of which was 5 members of Lakeside Running Club running the London Flora Marathon.

When Julie Kitchen held her 40th birthday party she asked all attendees to donate money, in memory of Mark, instead of buying presents. The Club also held a 25 mile sponsored walk, which took place back in June 2008.

The monies collected from the events were over £4000. £500 was given to the Prostrate Cancer Charity and £3640.00 was presented on Tuesday 21st October 2008 to two charities, each receiving £1820.00.

The Charities were: St Andrews Children’s Hospice, Grimsby, represented by Angela Greenfield, and St Barnabas Hospice, Lincoln, represented by Kim Frow.
