Club Membership at Lakeside Lincoln

Question: I run a couple of times a week and occasionally run a race. So why join a club?

Answer: Why not?! Running in a group is safer, more rewarding, more enjoyable...

Our membership allows you to claim money off race entries, and if you run in our Club Vest, you’ll be instantly recognised as a club runner, gaining exceptional support from the crowds! Membership of a running club is always a personal choice; there are thousands of runners in the UK who don’t run with a club, and miss out on support, frienship, training hints, tips etc. lifts to races, race support, someone to take your photos even!

Lakeside Lincoln Running Club’s membership is a reasonable £25 per year, so if you run one race a month, you’ll be financially better off too!

Membership can also open new avenues into other aspects of running - coaching, officiating, marshalling, measuring races...

And for the ultimate offer... you can join us in the pub after a training run!

MINUTES OF THE MEETING

5^TH MARCH 2009, YARBOROUGH LEISURE CENTRE

Present: R.Freeman: G.Power, A.Hewett, J.Houtby, D.Shucksmith, D.Marshall, P.Walker, J.Diffey, J.Aram, B.Peppard, P.Trevey, P.Davis, E. Reynolds.

Dear Member,

It was agreed that the club subscriptions for year 2009 will be held for the third consecutive year at £25.00 per person. Student concession is £10.00 per person. All subscriptions should be paid to Graeme Power by end of April.

The club committee was re-elected as below with the addition of Jim Aram being nominated by Roy Freeman and Seconded by Dave Shucksmith.

Committee Members are:

• Andrew Kitchen – Chairman.
• Roy Freeman – Secretary.
• Graeme Power – Treasurer.
• Alan Hewett
• Pete Walker
• Jo Diffey
• Jim Aram

Club funds remain healthy and details can be obtained from the treasurer.

The club constitution can be obtained from the secretary.

There is one club running Jacket, size medium, still available, purchase price £35.00 There are several female running vests sizes 12 & 14, and only one male XXL vest, price £14.00.

The club annual dinner was a success. Pete Walker is to organise the club dinner for next year.

Thanks go to Tom & Lorraine Sheehan for hosting the barbeque for the Charity Walk which raised over £4000.00. The money was split equally between Cancer Research, St.Barnabas Hospice, Lincoln, & St. Andrews Hospice, Grimsby. Many thanks go to National Grid for their contribution.

It was proposed by J.Houtby and agreed by the members that it should be the responsibility of individual members who wish to be entered into the club draw for the London Marathon to inform a committee member before the end of November. Failure to do so will result in your name not being entered into the draw. To be eligible for the draw you should have been a member for at least one full year and have had your marathon application rejected.
